Breaking News: Godzilla Minus One Producer Offers Update on Next Godzilla Movie

It’s been a year since the release of Godzilla vs. Kong, the massive blockbuster that brought together the King of the Monsters and the mighty ape in a battle for the ages. Fans of the Godzilla franchise have been eagerly awaiting word on what’s next for the iconic creature, and today, producer Brian Rogers, who was involved with the production of Godzilla 2014 and Kong: Skull Island, has provided an update on the future of the franchise.

Speaking to a packed room at the annual Comic-Con in San Diego, Rogers announced that a new Godzilla film is in the works, with a release date scheduled for 2024. The as-yet-untitled movie will see Godzilla facing off against a new foe, one that promises to be even more formidable than King Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla.

"We’re thrilled to be back in the Godzilla universe," Rogers exclaimed. "We’ve got a fantastic script that promises to deliver even more intense action and thrilling sequences than our previous films. The new monster is a real game-changer, and we can’t wait for fans to see it."

Rogers went on to reveal that the film will be directed by none other than Adam Wingard, who is best known for his work on films like You’re Next and Blair Witch. Wingard is a huge fan of the Godzilla franchise and is said to be bringing his own unique vision to the project.

"We’re big fans of Adam’s work, and we’re thrilled to have him on board," Rogers said. "He’s got a great understanding of what makes Godzilla tick, and we think he’s going to do an amazing job of bringing this new monster to life."

As for the new monster, Rogers was tight-lipped, but hinted that it would be unlike anything fans have seen before.

"It’s a really interesting and unique creature that we think will surprise and delight fans," he teased. "Let’s just say that it’s going to be a real challenge for Godzilla, and fans are going to love it."

The film is set to begin production early next year, with a scheduled release date of June 2024. Fans can expect more information to come out in the coming months, including casting announcements and a first look at the new monster.

In the meantime, Godzilla fans will have to content themselves with re-watching the King of the Monsters’ past battles and speculating about what’s to come. One thing is for sure, however: with Godzilla Minus One producer Brian Rogers and director Adam Wingard at the helm, the next installment in the franchise is shaping up to be a must-see event.
