Excitement is building among “Outer Banks” fans, as filming for the much-awaited Season 4 of the hit Netflix series has resumed, following the end of several strikes that had initially threatened to delay production.
Filming on the Fourth Instalment of The Beloved Series
Over the past few weeks, concerns had been growing as strike action by various Guilds, including the Actors Guild, Writers Guild, and Directors Guild, saw projects across the entertainment industry paused or delayed. Specifically, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) authorized an industry-wide strike vote following a breakdown in talks between the union and employers on issues such as safety measures, residuals, and increased compensation.
However, negotiators from the media guilds and producers represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) resumed talks, ultimately finding an agreement that addressed major grievances and led to a green light for production.
“Outer Banks” Executive Producers, Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke shared statements expressing their gratitude that both parties were able to put aside their differences. While the strike had certainly left a dent in Hollywood and the entertainment industry’s productions, the show-runners were thrilled to go forward with the next stages.
